Instructions for Ground Beef Stroganoff

Cook the Ground Beef:
In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, add in garlic, onion, and the 1 lb HighMark Beef Co. 80/20 Ground Beef. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Season the Mixture:
Stir in 2 tsp dried or fresh chopped parsley, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp black pepper, and 1/2 tsp salt. Mix well to evenly distribute the seasonings.

Deglaze and Flavor:
Stir in 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce and 1 tbsp Dijon mustard. Mix well.

Add Mushrooms and Beef Broth and Simmer:
Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Pour in the entire container of beef broth and heavy whipping cream. Stir occasionally and bring the mixture to a boil.

Cook Egg Noodles:
While the sauce simmers, add in the 12 oz bag of egg noodles, (about 7 minutes). Cover.

Make the Creamy Sauce:
Reduce heat to low. Add cream cheese (cut into cubes for easier melting), and 1/2 cup sour cream to the beef mixture. Stir continuously until the cream cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.

Serve and Garnish:
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with extra chopped parsley or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if you want to add some spice. Enjoy!
